Thank you for your research. I am interested in the reading decoding strategies for adults. Would it be the same ?

Hi Seema, thanks for your kind feedback. In terms of the decoding strategies for adults - it would really depend on their abilities. But, if they were just beginning to learn to read - the same strategies would apply.

Hi Just wondering if a scope and sequence of high frequency words was created?

Thank you for this blog. It really reinforces what is happening in teaching in early years literacy without focusing on lots of different programs. I would like to support Kaye's request for a scope and sequence of high frequency words. Thanks again for this blog and I would be very interested in any other resources that supports this science

Hi thanks for that great read. It confirms lots of things that I am doing with great success. I am new to the role of learning and support and am asked to have data on a child's reading ability when they come to me and after 5 weeks of intervention. Do you have a suggestion of an assessment that can be used quickly as a pre and post assessment??

Hi Michelle, thanks for your lovely comment. I'm glad you found the blog informative and helpful. We do have a phonemic assessment resource that may be helpful - https://www.teachstarter.com/au/teaching-resource/phonological-awareness-diagnostic-tool/. You could also use anecdotal notes and evidence of how the children seem to be reading went hey come to you and then again after the 5 weeks. This could check for decoding skills and behaviours as well as fluency and comprehension of the text. Hope this is helpful.
