A checklist for students to refer to when displaying bookwork.

Display this teaching resource in your classroom to help your students understand bookwork expectations. The diagram and checklists adhere to the following literature standards:

  • Rule a margin on each new page using red pen. Your margin should be standard ruler width (2½ cm).
  • Rule a top line on each new page using red pen.
  • Write the full date on the right side of your top line.
  • Give your new task a heading and underline in red using a ruler.
  • At the end of each piece of writing, leave a line and rule-off with red pen from the margin to the edge of the page.
  • Make sure you have a new heading and date for each new piece of work.
  • Worksheets to be neatly cut and glued into your book with no bits sticking out.

The diagram and checklists adhere to the following numeracy standards:

  • Rule a top line two squares down on each new page using red pen.
  • Write the full date on the right side of your top line.
  • Give your new task a heading and underline in red using a ruler.
  • At the end of each section of your work, leave a line and rule-off with red pen.
  • Make sure you have a new heading and date for each new piece of work.
  • Worksheets to be neatly cut and glued into your book with no bits sticking out.

Further to comment below - I want to have the maths page appear with the blue squares so the B&W version doesn't work. Is there anyway this can be changed?

Is it possible that the red lines for underlining and ruling off could be removed or (ideally) changed to black?

Hi there, I love that you have also made an editable version available. Would it be possible to have the ruled up lines and information set out on these editable documents in the same format as your sample above. I like the original design you have made but only want to make slight changes it to such as the heading and date. Rather than recreate all the lines etc. Thank you!
