Ordering 2-Digit Numbers the Digital Way

Looking for an ordering 2-digit numbers activity that will engage your students? These interactive task cards allow students to drag, drop, and colour their way to mastering ordering numbers to 120. 

These ordering numbers interactive task cards include: 

• 8 “counting order” drag-and-drop cards
• 8 “least-to-greatest” drag-and-drop cards
• 8 “least-to-greatest” multiple choice cards
• A PDF answer key

Important: Make sure to put the slides in “edit” mode so students can manipulate the pieces in the task cards. This number sequencing activity works well as an independent, stations or guided group activity. 

Ordering Numbers Activities for the Classroom

In addition to our library of resources, there are many engaging activities you can utilise to practise ordering 2-digit numbers with your students. Here are a few you might want to try:

• Interactive Number Chart: Create a large number chart on the wall with painter’s tape and give all students a number card. Call groups of students to the number chart to place their numbers in the correct spot. 
• Student Number Line: Provide each student with a card that has a number from 0 – 120 on it. Students then arrange themselves in order from least to greatest. 
• Ordering With Dice: Students roll two dice to create a two-digit number. Then, they find the student in the classroom with the number closest to theirs.
• Mystery Number Guessing Game: Students choose a number from 1 – 120 and then give their partner hints about the number (“It’s more than 40 but less than 70.” “ It’s an even number.”) until their partner guesses their secret number.
