Looking for an ‘All About Me’ Activity? This One’s a Real Treasure!

Use this treasure-themed all about me activity to help pupils introduce themselves at the beginning of a new school year. The printable PDF format of the resource includes both the treasure chest template and printable ‘gold’ coins!

Using the printed template, pupils will draw a collection of treasured items representing their personalities and interests.

Create a Get-to-Know-You Treasure Chest!

  • Explain to the pupils that they will draw a collection of items to be kept inside their treasure chest. If possible, show the pupils a sample treasure chest you have drawn.
  • As a class, discuss some treasured items that could be drawn inside the treasure chest, e.g. a family photo album, a piece of sport equipment or a musical instrument.
  • Provide the children with a treasure chest template. Have pupils draw their treasured items onto the paper coins provided in the resource, then cut them out and glue them onto the treasure chest template.
  • Cut out the completed chest with coins inside and mount it on dark blue or black paper. Then use white or pale green crayons to draw in seaweed, etc.
  • Once completed, encourage your pupils to share their treasure chests with the class. These could remain displayed in the classroom or hallway throughout the school year.
