Fall Activities for Kids in the Classroom
Looking to bring autumn inside the classroom with fall activities? Our team of expert teachers put together a list of some fun fall activities for the elementary classroom that are a big hit with kids:
- Read and write fall poems with autumn adjectives and figurative language.
- Have students head outside to collect different types of fall leaves for a graphing activity (or skip the mess with a leaf-themed count and graph worksheet!)
- Take a nature walk. Take advantage of the beautiful cooler weather and the color of the season with your class. It could be something as simple as a stroll around the school, or a planned field trip to a local wooded area or farm. If you're wondering what else to do on your walk, take a look at our Free Nature Scavenger Hunt.
- Learn about weather by tracking the temperature, precipitation, and more during a week in the fall.
- Carve pumpkins in the classroom, and practice "how to" writing about pumpkin carving.
