A science experiment which explores the food preferences of ants.
Ants are astounding insects. They live in large groups called colonies that are made up of one or more queen ants, female workers, and males. Worker ants collect food for themselves and for the other ants in their colony. Ants use their antennae to follow a scent trail, taste, and communicate with each other.
This experiment allows students to investigate whether ants prefer cheese or honey as a snack.
Students follow the scientific method to conduct the experiment, then complete the worksheets provided.
